Wound Care R&D is introducing an innovative working model designed to foster continuous learning, career development, and organizational agility. Our Internal R&D Partner Team will consist of 10-12 R&D Developers and Laboratory Engineers, each rotating between different assignments such as:

  • Short-term vacancies – Filling in for team members on leave or providing temporary support during recruitment processes
  • Business Support Projects – Contributing to high-priority initiatives across R&D

As an Associate Laboratory Specialist in the Internal R&D Partners team, you will build on your laboratory expertise while applying your skills in a variety of settings as an internal consultant/partner. This means you will contribute your specialist knowledge to different teams within the Laboratory & Innovation Centre organization, working across multiple technical areas in a broader R&D environment.

The purpose of the role is to develop and advance laboratory testing methods and models. As a specialist, you will provide laboratory test data along with documented analysis, conclusions, statistical input, and recommendations to projects, platforms, and other stakeholders.

Additionally, the position involves supporting the development and implementation of new or improved materials, products, and concepts to meet customer needs. You will also be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing test and verification activities for both new medical device applications and the existing medical device assortment.

What you’ll do:

  • Suggest, plan, and execute tests and related tasks, representing expertise within projects and activities.
  • Set up, execute, update, develop, verify, validate, and implement new test methods in the laboratory.
  • Coordinate laboratory team activities with R&D functions, plan deliverables, and lead the testing team.
  • Identify, plan, coordinate, and execute method development, lab evaluation, and related activities, ensuring user requirements for lab test equipment.
  • Ensure safe and efficient working methods, contribute to continuous improvement of lab infrastructure, secure compliance, track technologies and research, participate in Method Group, and engage with external suppliers and standardization work.
  • Accountable for executing methods and delivering accurate data in the lab.
  • Examples of teams you can join is Physical Testing, Analytical Chemistry and Synthesis, Prototyping and Innovation Centre or Pre-clinical Biology.

What you’ll need

  • Deep knowledge in working with development and validation of test methods
  • Basic understanding of Global Regulatory Requirements and standards related to medical device as well as in Design Control
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Communication skills i.e., ability to document and visualize complex data and communicate results to a broader audience
  • 2 years’ experience within relevant laboratory work
  • PhD, master’s or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in relevant area such as chemistry, life science, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, automation engineering or equivalent
  • Experience from diverse laboratory areas in more than one of the following areas; physical testing, analytical chemistry, pre-clinical biology or software/hardware testing
