Composite Engineer

Frost Unmanned AB is looking for a Composite Engineer to join our team in designing and manufacturing advanced fixed-wing drones (UAVs) and unmanned boats (USVs) using high-performance composite materials. If you have a strong technical background in composite structures, experience in UAV, aerospace, or marine applications, and a passion for lightweight, high-speed engineering, this is your opportunity to be part of an innovative and fast-growing team.

About the Role

As a Composite Engineer, you will work onsite in Stenungsund, Sweden, collaborating with our R&D, production, and engineering teams to develop cutting-edge UAV and USV structures. You will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and improving composite manufacturing processes, ensuring the highest standards in aerodynamics, strength, and weight efficiency.

Unlike simpler multicopter drones, our fixed-wing UAVs and high-speed USVs require precision engineering, structural integrity, and material expertise—making this an exciting challenge for a composite specialist.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Composite Design & Engineering – Develop carbon fiber and fiberglass structures for UAVs & USVs.

🔹 Manufacturing Optimization – Refine layup processes, infusion techniques, and structural reinforcements.

🔹 Material Selection & Testing – Evaluate and apply high-performance composite materials.

🔹 CAD & Simulation – Work with engineers on structural modeling and performance simulations.

🔹 Process Development – Improve manufacturing workflows to enhance efficiency and durability.

🔹 Prototyping & Testing – Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of composite components.

What We’re Looking For

✅ Experience in composite engineering for UAVs, aerospace, automotive, or marine structures.

✅ Strong understanding of carbon fiber, fiberglass, epoxy resins, and advanced composites.

✅ Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) for structural modeling.

✅ Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and composite stress analysis is a plus.

✅ Experience with composite layup, vacuum infusion, and mold design.

✅ Ability to troubleshoot material and process challenges with a problem-solving mindset.

✅ Fluent in English (spoken & written).

✅ Legally eligible to work in Sweden at the time of application.
