Principal Cathode Engineer
Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a principal cathode engineer.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
• Contribute to CAM strategy and roadmap as a part of the overall Northvolt cell roadmap
• Coordinate and initiate extensive external R&D collaboration (incl Supervision of MSc and PhD) with top
universities in both Sweden and abroad
• Be a strong technical mentor to young co-workers, incl review skills and development needs
• Build, coordinate and execute internal scientific lectures to the CAM team to spread competence and knowledge to the larger team
• Review of internal R&D and technical reports before publication
• Submit patent applications and other IP within CAM R&D field
• Member of CAM R&D management team
Qualifications/education/experience
• MSc or PhD in Chemical/Material/Electrical Engineering,and Chemistry/Physics
• Preferably 10+ year’s experience in material and/or process R&D within material development, powder development or similar. Valuable with experience from battery materials.
• Demonstrated expertise and success in the development and characterization of materials, preferably battery materials
• Experience from industrialization and scale-up of production processes
• Experience working with international and multi-cultural environments
Specific skills (eg specific programmes, languages, certifications etc)
• Fluent in English (Company language)
• Material development, process development and advanced material characterization
• Team development
• Strong background from technical R&D environment and culture with proven engineering excellence
