IKEA Core Business Supply is responsible for securing that the product offer is produced and delivered to our customers. We lead the supply agenda across many functions and work together with all business areas, different business units, but also retail markets to secure customer availability in all markets and sales channels at lowest total cost.
The role of IKEA Supply Area is to buy, produce and distribute the IKEA range at the lowest total cost, making high quality available to the customer under good social and environmental conditions. Supply Area North is one of 7 Supply Areas in the world, and our co-workers are based in Älmhult, Dortmund and Kaunas.
Job Description

For this position we are looking for a Quality Specialist who is up for a true adventure! In this role you will get a unique opportunity to grow an international experience and network from day 1.
In this role you support the business teams to develop the quality agenda, propose common priorities based on learnings and build quality competence to deliver products that meet our customer expectations in all aspects of democratic design.
Your main assignments:
- Plan & perform audits according to IKEA quality standards with focus on IKEA Food products.
- Support the business teams and suppliers in implementing the containment and corrective actions based on audit results.
- Perform spot checks in regards to the purchasing manual and “Gate Check before first delivery” to support our business teams to verify that new products comply with our requirements. As well, from time to time on project basis, you verify compliance on the running product range and support Global Product Requirement Review work.
- Lead category appointed projects in cooperation with business teams in case of quality deviations to identify root causes and find resolutions.
- Support the development & implementation of common working methods and tools for the Engineering & Quality matrix
- Support introduction of new co-workers in Supply Area North for common ways of working and tools.
- Support the implementation of IKEA Chemical strategy and IKEA Food Safety program within purchasing, including production processes
- Coach and Support our business teams in evaluating potential new suppliers and mitigating risks connected to product safety and chemical/microbiological compliance
- Participate in the development of new IoS specifications and other product requirements. Secure that input is given on potential impacts on supply chain as well on the requirement documents readability.
Qualifications
We believe that you are as curious as we are and eager to explore new places and to meet new people. You have the capability to perform complex analysis and risk assessment and draw conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementations. You have very good knowledge of IKEA Product and chemical and microbiological requirements and chemical substances in production processes and material. You are a good communicator in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and in a simple way. You have a holistic view, always having Customer, Supplier, total IKEA, compliance, and quality development in mind. You are able to transfer knowledge and working methods to co-workers and suppliers. Last but not least, you have good knowledge about IKEA food products’ safety, compliance and quality related product life cycle management.

What you have in your backpack:
- University degree in quality management, chemistry/chemical/biotech/food/ engineering or similar; and/or technical background and significant experience working with Quality/compliance management or chemical issues
- Previous work experience in handling Product Safety, Quality, Compliance and Chemical/Microbiological requirements as well as production and operation processes
- Knowledge of Project Management tools and methodology as well as of Quality tools
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks on an operational level with great attention to details and the ability to work in a structured and organized way
- Perform complex analyses and risk assessments, draw conclusions and by that, support the right business decisions and implementation of those
- Capability to communicate in a clear way and build relationships and transferring knowledge and working methods by organizing and facilitating workshops
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft office
- Striving for personal development and applying new learnings within your assignment
- A passion for Quality and always having the customer in mind
- Driver’s license B
