Essity Lilla Edet is expanding its Safety team and seeking a new Safety Specialist who will support the factory and the managers in leading the focus on work environment and safety.
Essity Edet Bruk is a paper mill with an annual capacity of approximately 100,000 tonnes of paper. The mill consists of several production stages: steam plant, pulp processing, paper production, conversion, logistics and support functions. Edet Mill, with around 400 employees, has a 140-year history and is described by the employees as a familiar and pleasant workplace where the focus is on safety and continuous improvement.

About the role
Safety and the work environment are a prioritized part of Essity's operations, and we invest heavily in proactive and systematic work environment and safety work. We have an ambitious risk prevention program to minimize the number of accidents and create a healthy and safe working environment for all employees. The position means that you work out in the organization in a supportive and active role, where you will have the opportunity to influence how the work should be developed within the factory.
Your main responsibilities and tasks are to:
- Work preventively and support the factory and managers as an expert in work environment and safety.
- Based on Essity's standards and directives, control, develop and implement safety standards.
- Adapt legal and Essity requirements into clear and easy-to-follow routines, which requires you to become familiar with the laws and regulations.
- Plan, implement and lead the risk analysis work.
- Monitor, develop and coordinate the company's work environment management.
- Coordinate overall analysis of risks, observations, incidents and accidents, and participate and lead investigations.
- Participate in projects and be an expert in the field of occupational health and safety.
- Work with our work environment management system (ISO 45001) and participate in internal and external audits.
- Train employees in the field of occupational health and safety
Who are you?
- Education within Safety or relevant working experience
- Safety is a topic you are passionate about
- Demonstrated experience working within work environment and safety
- Experience working within structured methods of risk management such as HAZOP, HAZI, HIRA or similar is desired
- Good communication skills and curiosity to build strong working relationships
- Comfortable to provide presentations and trainings
- Business-level skills (written and spoken) in both English and Swedish
The position is a permanent position, with no probation period.
